The main reason why I was glued to the computer for hours and didn't do my homework. One of my most favorite strategies because of the gameplay, visuals, and music (my favorite town theme is Inferno).
I remember my mom really disliked this game because of the cutscene after you lose where your head gets chopped off. I kept playing it anyway, though. By the way, my favorite towns are Stronghold and Necropolis in the original, and also Cove and Factory in HotA.
Oh, by the way, I have all the add-ons on discs: namely, Restoration of Erathia, Armageddon's Blade, and Shadow of Death. And also, two discs with Heroes Chronicles (I think I'm missing one for the complete collection).
And this is my favorite RTS. I really love the visuals and the campaign in this game (especially the Soviet Union one). This particular game shaped my tastes in RTS games. I often played against the computer, but now I sometimes try multiplayer (I've won 2-3 times). I really love playing as Korea, Russia, Iraq, and Libya.
I rarely play the original game these days because there's a mod called Mental Omega which is head and shoulders above the original in every way, though I haven't tried its multiplayer because it feels more difficult. Otherwise, I'm really looking forward to the third campaign act. My favorite factions in MO are China, Russia, America, the European Union, Hailhead, and Wings of Coronia.
Now this is probably my ALL-TIME favorite game. It has an awesome atmosphere, a great visual style, and just... everything about it is top-notch. It's a real shame the game's developers got totally screwed over, of course.
This game had a huge impact on me as a person. Thanks to it, I became a better version of myself. I even bought a tie and a blazer like the main character's, by the way.
I also started reading a book set in the game's universe. I've only made it to Chapter 6 so far, but I can already tell I'm really enjoying it.
Quake III - This is the pinnacle, no point in arguing. For me personally, there's nothing better in terms of multiplayer shooters. There are only a few games that are even on the same level, and even those are rare. After Quake, most other shooters feel too slow, which makes them kinda hard to play.
I still play Quake Champions sometimes, but not as much, which is why I decided to write about the third one. If you see me on one of the servers, feel free to say hi.
When talking about this game, it's easier for me to say what it isn't, because it has real-time strategy, RPG, arcade shooter, and economic strategy elements. It essentially has EVERYTHING. And yet, the game isn't overloaded, as it allows you to disable some of these features. But at its core, it's a space RPG with turn-based combat.
Back in the day, I played it, if not more, then about as much as Heroes III. By the way, I have a disc with this game on it, and not only does it contain this game, but also the first game, plus beta and alpha versions, along with a ton of fan-made content.
If you've read my thoughts on Quake III, you already know I'm a huge fan of fast-paced shooters. This game is a prime example of just how fast I like them.
It has a great variety of weapons, and each one features different firing modes and upgrades, making all of them useful in their own way (though I didn't use the sniper rifle much). Besides weapons, you can also enhance yourself with implants. For instance, I got a second chainsaw leg, which allowed me to tear through entire levels using just those. But I still used weapons because they're just so cool.
I played through the game twice in a row because one playthrough simply wasn't enough. And even as I'm writing this, I feel the urge to play it all over again.
Alright, this is a page with a list of my favorite games. The list will be updated from time to time, and the descriptions for the games might change. In the future, it might not just be games here, but also movies and other things, but I'm not sure yet, so I'm not making any promises.
